Beautifully imperfect
Yesterday was filled with fun and surprises, as of any 4B outing I had! I definitely enjoyed myself throughly, especially with a bunch of fun-loving guys and girls who seem to be oblivious to the world around them (in a good way, and sometimes maybe disruptive too). Probably, that is what we are.
We met up at Marina Bay MRT and went to Marina Barrage. It was really packed for a weekend, and the place was rather crowded with picnic-goers and kite-flyers. We fell into the category in between both. Somehow we chose to lay our mats in the middle of the courtyard at the top of the Barrage, because that is where most people fly (and crash) their kites. Everyone started to bring out their food, and it was really sumptuous, especially LR's fried rice. My pasta is not very well done, and of course not well received. I had to chomp away most of the leftovers, and still couldn't finish. Some of them decided to fly my kite, which was not in a very good shape. We had to literally patch it up with Handiplast! Still, it met its demise not too long after, and I guess it's a sign that I have to invest in a more durable kite with proper prior research into them.
As night fell, more people from our class started to arrive, like Abel, Niang, and Jiamin. I guess the best part of the evening was when we did a remake of Electrico's "What Do You See" music. Kahlok started walking in front as the lead singer, then Abel and I ran alongside him to sing with him. With every line of the song, more guys continued to join in our big run down the courtyard and it was great (too bad it wasn't viral enough to make other strangers to run along with us, just as in the video). At least we chased people away when they saw us running down like a horde down the spiral. We rock!
Still, there were still certain unhappy moments that I've witnessed that certainly marred the event which I shan't mention here. Hopefully we can have more gatherings like these!
