a big update
It's been a long time since I had the chance to sit down and relax, while thinking of what to blog about. Probably should update what I have been doing from April till now.
Right after graduating from BMT, I was posted to MP and had my 9 week Basic course. Considering what happened during my "bleak" BMT (as described by CO BMTC...), being able to become a MP is a very lucky thing for me. It was really one of the best experiences in NS, with all the new friends I met and the new environment I'm exposed to. The knowledge and skills I have gained during the course was invaluable. On one hand, we get to learn basic policing work and also military law, so it was rather interesting. The stories about MP life being told was also very insightful, something we would not hear in other units.
As MPs, our duties can be very diverse. After passing out from Basic, I was posted to Gombak to do security work. What I can say at this moment is rather limited, because I haven't really started on the actual work. But I can only say that my luck hasn't run out, and I get to do less strenuous duties compared to my other batchmates who are in different platoons.
Looking back, I realised that I've been in the SAF for four months, and from a recruit to a private, I'm starting to learn how this organisation works, and the culture. Despite not being able to get into command school because of certain circumstances, my posting allowed me to deal with real-time situations, allowing me to exercise my knowledge more than other men in other units (because of their inclination to combat environments). Therefore I feel that I am able to benefit more than my peers at the end of 2 years.
